Élodie Royer

Élodie Royer is an independent curator and a PHD candidate at the Ecole Normale Supérieure within SACRe research laboratory. Her current research focuses on linking practices of women artists in Japan in relation to their territorial rootedness, the history of disasters and environmental struggles in Japan, and ecofeminism. Since her residency at Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto in 2011, she has worked regularly with the Japanese art scene. In 2022, she curated the exhibition Les Êtres Lieux at the Maison de la culture du Japon in Paris, and between 2016 and 2020, a series of exhibitions commissioned by KADIST and MOT Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art and co-curated with Che Kyongfa (Things Entangling, MOT; Les nucléaires et les choses, KADIST; Almost nothing, yet not nothing, Tokyo University of the Arts). She is an advisor for KADIST collection and TextWork, the Pernod Ricard Foundation editorial platform.
