Occupy the Internet de Le Free Art and Technology Lab (F.A.T. Lab) fait partie de l’exposition « Form@ts Cycle Side Effects» proposée par Alessandro Ludovico, pour l’espace virtuel du Jeu de Paume.
The Occupy the Internet project draws on the kistch, folksy iconology of animaged .gif images (the standard format for animated images on the Internet). It is a Web extension of Occupy Wall Street, the peaceful movement that began in Zucotti Park, New York, in 2011, to protest the abuses of financial capitalism, and was itself inspired by the Arab Spring and the Indignados movement in Spain.
