Jeu de Paume – Paris
In Not Alone, electronic sounds and the cello intertwine and cross paths, before eventually splitting into multiple digital personalities that can suddenly converge into unified ensembles, while concealing their origins within repetitive processes.
The composition is dedicated to cellist Abdul Wadud, one of the key members of the Black Artists’ Group. A composition by George E. Lewis for cello and electronics, performed by Pierre Strauch (cello). A proposal by Alexandre Pierrepont.
