A man by the name of Jake lives in the depths of the Scottish forest. He enjoys walking there and napping in misty fields and woods. He builds a raft so he can spend time on the loch in the fine weather. He drives an old Jeep and collects wood. We watch him in all seasons, surviving frugally, passing time working on strange projects, living the radical dream of his youth: a dream made possible by two years at sea.
