Éditions Sistema Solar and the Jeu de Paume present the catalogue Suspended spaces 4. A discussion with publication editor Françoise Parfait alongside Éric Valette, Daniel Lê, Jacinto Lageira, Valérie Jouve, Marie-José Mondzain, Lucia Ramos Monteiro, Christophe Viart and Jan Kopp.

Suspended Spaces is a collective project initiated in 2007. The group works on territories that, for reasons of political, economic or historical conflict, are somehow “suspended.”
This book, the fourth in the collection, is like its three predecessos, a combination of essay, exhibition catalogue and journal of artistic research. It concentrates in particular on connections between histories and territories: France, Brazil, Portugal and the former Portuguese colonies in Africa.

Sharing the forgotten

Five exhibitions organised in Brazil (MAC Niterói), France (Mains d’Œuvres, Saint-Ouen and Le LAIT art centre in Albi) and Portugal (Palácio Pombal in Lisbon and Círculo de Artes Plásticas in Coimbra) work in synergy with researchers exploring theoretical aspects of modernities and their heritages.
