DISNOVATION – RESEARCH BLOG DISNOVATION RESEARCH GROUP

As part of Futurs non conformes #1 Mythologies

From 01 October 2016 to 30 April 2017

Disnovation research blog by Disnovation – a research group is part of the “Futurs non conformes #1” project for the Jeu de Paume virtual space.

This project comprising a series of artistic and critical interventions considers the race for innovation to be a vehicle for political and economic propaganda. It aims to rock the boat by deepening our appreciation and understanding of the complexities of a societal issue that is all too often reduced to a positivist analysis or, in other cases, to one which leads to a paralysing disquietude.

« Disnovation » is a non-frontal, cross-disciplinary and deviant research project that aims to encourage critical perspectives, absurd experiments, malfunctions, sabotage, disruptions, corruptions and appropriations of both the artefacts themselves and the rhetoric of innovation.
The Disnovation research blog compiles occurrences of this propaganda on a daily basis, as well as providing a platform for those discordant voices whose intention it is to deconstruct the arguments of this propaganda, to shine a light on the underlying ideologies, or envisage other possibilities. It is an archive of emerging issues and a place that brings together the various tools to evaluate and put into context changes in the field of innovation since the 1940s.

Disnovation Research Group

Disnovation Research Group is a nomadic platform contributing since 2012 to strategically disrupt and pervert the discourses on technological innovation. Alongside artists, theorists and activists, it devises situations of disturbance, experience and debate about the social, political, ethical and aesthetic stakes of technology.
