Jeu de Paume – Tours

Jeu de Paume is dedicating an exhibition to Juliette Agnel, winner of the Prix Niépce – Gens d’Images 2023 at the Château de Tours, from 14 June to 10 November 2024.

From the sky to the cosmos, via the earth, caves and icebergs, Juliette Agnel is interested in extreme natural landscapes, which are at the heart of her photographic practice. After studying visual arts and ethno-aesthetics at university, she went on to study at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, before exploring the world. During her travels, she has immersed herself in territories where nature constitutes an elusive power: in Sudan, in the Bárdenas desert in Spain (2017), in Greenland (2018), and more recently in Martinique (2023).

The exhibition at Château de Tours features a dialogue of five photographic series produced in recent years that explore the profound nature of landscapes where plants and minerals coexist.

Curator: Marta Ponsa, assisted by Raphaëlle Bracq.
Exhibition produced by the Jeu de Paume, in collaboration with the City of Tours.
In partnership with Gens d’Images.
