OCCUPY THE INTERNET (2011) - F.A.T. LAB

As part of "Form@ts Cycle Side Effects"

From 16 March to 22 October 2012

Jeu de Paume – Online

Occupy the Internet de Le Free Art and Technology Lab (F.A.T. Lab) fait partie de l’exposition « Form@ts Cycle Side Effects»  proposée par Alessandro Ludovico, pour l’espace virtuel du Jeu de Paume.

The Occupy the Internet project draws on the kistch, folksy iconology of animaged .gif images (the standard format for animated images on the Internet). It is a Web extension of Occupy Wall Street, the peaceful movement that began in Zucotti Park, New York, in 2011, to protest the abuses of financial capitalism, and was itself inspired by the Arab Spring and the Indignados movement in Spain.

Le Free Art and Technology Lab (F.A.T. Lab)

The Free Art and Technology (F.A.T.) Lab is an organization dedicated to enriching the public domain through the research and development of creative technologies and media. All the artists, engineers, scientists, lawyers and musicians of the F.A.T. network are committed to supporting open values and the public domain through the use of emerging open licenses, support for open entrepreneurship and the admonishment of secrecy, copyright monopolies and patents.
